Hello!

I’ve been thinking about writing this blog for a long time. As a mum and guardian I feel like I’ve experienced a lot and needed some place to share it.

Here’s a bit about me- My name is April, I am 32 from London! I am engaged to Daniel, 37. We have 5 children together aged 10-3 and in 2020 we became special guardians to my niece who is 3. She is just 3 months younger than my youngest. I also had a pregnancy before Daniel, it sadly ended at 13 weeks with a neural tube defect.

I plan to talk about all of my pregnancies, all of my birth stories too! I’ve had many different types, the easy, the scary, problematic, inductions, overdue and early.

And the biggest thing will probably our guardianship. We were dealing with social workers and solicitors and foster caters for a year whilst we fought for my niece and nephews. It was hard, it was tough on us, on our family, on the kids. But we got through it and now we have no involvement from anyone. We’re just growing as a family.

But there’s my initial ramble! I promise to update the blog with all sorts as and when I can.
